Effective Date: September 24, 2026
Last Updated: September 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how jamAI (“jamAI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, processes, discloses, and protects information when you access or use jamai.dev and our related websites, applications, artificial intelligence features, flashcard tools, study tools, and other products and services (collectively, the “Service”).
jamAI provides tools that allow users to create, generate, organize, study, and share flashcards and related educational materials, including through artificial intelligence (“AI”).
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, contact us at:
Email: [email protected]
Website: jamai.dev
1. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we process in connection with the Service.
It does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services that operate independently from jamAI, even if they are accessible through or integrated with the Service. Those third parties may have their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with jamAI, which features you use, and the information you choose to provide.
2.1 Account and Profile Information
When you create or maintain a jamAI account, we may collect:
- Email address
- Username
- Display name
- Authentication information
- Account identifiers
- Profile information you choose to provide
Subscription level; and
Account preferences.
If you create an account using an email address and password, authentication credentials are processed through our authentication infrastructure.
We do not need to know or store your password in plaintext in order to authenticate your account.
2.2 Information From Third-Party Authentication Services
You may be able to create or access a jamAI account using a third-party authentication provider such as Google.
If you use Google Sign-In, we may receive information authorized through your Google account, such as:
- Your name
- Email address
- Profile image, if provided
Google account identifier; and
Other information necessary to authenticate your account.
The information Google provides depends on the permissions associated with the authentication process.
Your interaction with Google is also subject to Google’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
2.3 User Content
jamAI allows users to create, upload, submit, process, store, and share materials (“User Content”).
Depending on the features currently available, User Content may include:
- Text
- Notes
- Flashcards
- Flashcard decks
- Questions and answers
- Images
- Screenshots
- Documents
- PDF files
- Presentations
- Word-processing documents
- Audio
Video; and
Other study or educational materials.
Some of these formats may be planned features and may not be supported at all times.
User Content may contain personal information or sensitive information depending on what you choose to upload.
Please do not upload sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your use of the Service.
3. Information Processed for AI Features
AI-assisted flashcard generation is one of jamAI’s primary features.
When you use an AI-powered feature, jamAI may extract or process information from the material you provide and transmit information necessary to fulfill your request to an AI service provider.
jamAI currently uses the Google Gemini API for certain AI functionality.
Depending on the feature, information transmitted for AI processing may include:
- Text you enter
- Text extracted from an uploaded image or document
- Images
- Portions of documents or other files
- Instructions associated with your request
Context needed to perform the requested task; and
Other information necessary to generate the requested result.
For example, if you provide study material and ask jamAI to generate flashcards, relevant information from that material may be transmitted to the AI provider so the requested flashcards can be generated.
Information submitted for AI processing may therefore leave jamAI’s own infrastructure and be processed on infrastructure operated by our service providers.
Third-party AI providers process information according to their applicable contractual terms, privacy practices, security measures, and legal obligations.
jamAI may change or add AI providers as the Service develops.
4. AI Data Retention and Training
jamAI does not claim that information transmitted to an AI provider is never temporarily retained by that provider.
The retention and use of information transmitted to third-party AI services depends on the service, account configuration, features used, and applicable provider terms.
Where jamAI uses eligible paid Gemini API services, Google’s applicable terms currently provide restrictions on using submitted prompts and responses to improve Google’s products. Google may nevertheless retain certain information for limited purposes, including security and abuse monitoring, depending on the service and configuration.
jamAI may also process temporary copies or intermediate representations of User Content as necessary to fulfill an AI request.
Unless otherwise disclosed, temporary AI-processing data is not intended to become a separate permanent copy of your study material in jamAI solely because it was transmitted for AI generation.
This does not affect User Content that you intentionally save as part of your jamAI account, such as saved decks or flashcards.
5. Study and Usage Information
When you use jamAI, we may collect information about your interaction with the Service, including:
- Flashcards you create
- Decks you create
